Denver and Lone Tree Browlift Procedure
The eyebrows descend with age causing the eyes to appear tired or sad. The Browlift procedure is a very popular procedure that raises droopy eyebrows that can occur with aging. Today, Browlift is done endoscopically through incisions that are hidden in the hair. A Visage Center Denver browlift restores the eyebrows to the normal position and can dramatically rejuvenate the eyes!
What does a Browlift do?
The Browlift procedure elevates the eybrows back to a normal position. Not only does the lead to a more youthful look, it also helps to relieve excess skin of the upper eyelids. This procedure can be done in conjunction with Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), but great results can be obtained with a Browlift alone.
Your Denver or Lone Tree Browlift Consultation
During the initial consultation, the position of your eyebrows and how they affect your eyes is discussed. The results of a Browlift is often demonstrated in a mirror by lifting the eyebrows with a hand. The changes you desire are most important, and these are discussed in terms of what are realistic and natural-appearing results. As always, a medical history is obtained to make sure that you are safe to have this procedure. Photos are also taken at the initial visit to help identify natural asymmetries in the eyebrows and to illustrate what changes can be expected.
Understanding the Procedure
The Browlift is done endoscopically, which means that telescopes are used to perform the surgery. Five incisions are designed benhind the hair so that the scars are completely hidden. The skin of the forehead is elevated to restore the normal position of the eyebrow. After the eyebrow position has been restored, the incision are closed with suture that dissolves away in about 10 days.
What To Expect After The Surgery
Immediately after the surgery has been completed, a certain degree of swelling and bruising is normal. Cold compresses and head elevation when lying down will enhance healing and relieve discomfort. Dr. Winkler will prescribe medication for any discomfort.
What is the downtime?
For 7 to 10 days following Browlift, there can be bruising and discomfort of the forehead. There can even be bruising of the upper eyelids. During this time you will clean the incisions and apply ice to the forehead to limit swelling and discomfort. The self-absorbing stitches will dissolve on their own after about 1 week.
